For over 20 years a group of environmentalists do an annual walk across a selected route in Ireland. Along the way they plant trees and give talks to schools to help educate people to re plant the Island which once was densely forested....
Gluaiseacht (www.gluaiseacht.ie) is an environmental and social justice NGO, whose members have campaigned on Climate Change related issues for many years. We feel that we have some experiences that may be valuable to the Peoples Assembly as it addresses the question of "How the State can make Ireland a leader in tackling climate change?".
Following last years awarding of the overall Green Award to Shell's Corrib Gas Tunnelling Project, this year environmental NGO Gluaiseacht are nominating Donald Trump for the Irish Green Award. The deadline for nominations is the 21st December 2016.
